Quality-Assured Gardens & Driveways in Essex

We understand landscaping your garden is a big investment. And you need to know you’re in the safe hands of a contractor that you can trust.

Patios Built to Last

The secret to a long-lasting patio is in the ground preparation.

The paving is only the icing on the cake – it’s what’s underneath that counts. And that’s why we always install our sub-base to at least 100mm depth using MOT Type 1.

We also lay our patio paving on a full mortar bed. And we add even more strength to your patio by including concreting fibres in our mortar. Adding further compressive strength and up to 75% more flexural strength. This increases the lifespan of your patio.

Quality Workmanship

We believe in doing an amazing job and building you an outdoor space using high-quality materials and the most thorough installation techniques.

Our expert craftsmanship has been recognised through multiple industry awards. We take great pride in our work, and we’ll never cut corners…ever. And we’ll only use the highest quality materials from trusted suppliers.

What’s more, our team members are employees, too.  And we invest in their skills, experience and qualifications. Giving you peace of mind that you’re in the safe hands of trusted landscapers.

Transparent Pricing

Before even a spade goes into the ground, we’ll provide you with a detailed written quotation and scope of works. You’ll know exactly what you are getting for your investment.

Once a project begins, you may want us to carry out extra work or amend the original scope. And that’s not a problem.

Before we do anything, you’ll be provided with a written quotation detailing the changes. So there are no hidden surprises.

FAQs

Below is a list of our frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t answered below, then please contact us.

It depends upon the type of paving. With porcelain and natural stone, the joins are pointed with either grout or joining compound. This seals the join and stops weed growth. But, if you opt for block paving, there is a higher chance of weed growth. Block paving needs kiln dried sand between the joins of the paving. The sand locks the paving into place. But it can sometimes encourage weeds to grow. For block paving, we use a ‘weed-free’ kiln dried sand to keep weeds to a minimum.

It depends upon your needs and budget. In recent years, porcelain has been the most popular choice. Because of its hard-wearing nature, low-maintenance and variety of colours and styles. However, many clients prefer the natural beauty of natural stone such as Indian Sandstone, Slate or Granite. We’d be happy to discuss your requirements in-depth during your consultation. We can help you decide on the best type of paving that meets your needs and budget. And arrange for you to see samples too. For further help in choosing the best patio paving, see our in-depth paving guide here.

All our work is bespoke and no two projects are the same. Costs vary greatly depending upon many factors. This includes material choice, necessary groundworks required, site access and existing site conditions. Features such as retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, drainage and firepits all have an impact on cost, too. Many of our patio projects fall between £15,000 – £30,000 plus VAT. For a full written quotation and scope of works for your project, please book a consultation.

Our office is in South Woodham Ferrers and typically our work is within a 45-minute drive from here. We offer landscaping across the majority of Essex including Chelmsford, Billericay, Southend, Leigh on Sea, Wickford, Basildon, Rayleigh, Brentwood, Braintree, Witham, Maldon, Danbury and the surrounding areas.

We are a garden design and build landscaping company. This includes garden design, patios and pathways, brickwork, fencing, decking, pergolas, outdoor kitchens and artificial lawns. We also install block paved driveways, porcelain driveways and gravel driveways.

Yes, we do. Click here for more information.

Before even a spade goes into the ground, we’ll provide you with a detailed written quotation and scope of works. You’ll know exactly what you are getting for your investment. We would need to visit your home before providing a quotation.

We build new gardens and driveways all year round. So, the answer is whatever suits you best!  There are pros and cons to every season. Some clients prefer summer when the weather is better. But, it’s also when you want to be out enjoying your garden, rather than having it dug up. So, for that reason, others prefer winter.

Yes, we have £5m of public liability and £10m of employers’ liability cover.

We offer a 12-month workmanship warranty. If your project uses Marshalls products, we can offer a 10-year warranty on materials.

Yes, we do. The deposit secures your start date and pays for necessary materials. For projects over £20,000 in value, a staged payment plan is agreed upon before the works start.

Since 2011. Time flys!

Our uniformed team members are friendly and courteous. We promise to treat your (and your neighbour’s) home as if it were our own. We’ll keep your home and garden as clean and tidy as possible throughout the duration of your project.

At the end of the build, your home and garden will be left spotlessly clean, and ready to use right away.

We’ll keep your property and the surrounding area as clean and tidy as possible during the works.

We also minimise disruption by scheduling deliveries outside of rush-hour times, wherever possible.

We’ll even let your neighbours know when we’re starting your project. Along with a rough time frame for completion. And our contact details in case of any queries.

We understand that there’s nothing more frustrating than an unreliable contractor. That’s why we turn up when we say we will. And we’ll never leave a job until it’s finished.

It’s important to note though, there are some rare instances where we may not be able to attend site. For example, we need to allow time for concrete to fully cure, poor weather conditions or uncontrollable delays with materials. However, these are very rare circumstances. Rest assured, if there is work that we can do, we promise we’ll be on site doing it!

Once a project begins, you may want us to carry out extra work or amend the original scope. And that’s not a problem.

We’re flexible to changes and will always accommodate them wherever we can.

Before we do anything, you’ll be provided with a written quotation detailing the changes. So there are no hidden surprises.

Yes, we do. We’ll organise everything, from start to finish. Sit back and relax as you won’t have to lift a finger!

We employ our own team of trained and professional landscapers. We also continually invest in their skills, experience and qualifications. We use subcontractors for some specialist areas. For example, electrical work or wrought iron railings.

A landscaping project involves lots of moving parts. It’s very rare, but, sometimes delays or problems can occur.

If anything goes wrong with your project, you’re unhappy about something, or you just have a question, your designated Site Manager will help. If they can’t, they’ll raise the issue with the Managing Director or office support team.

We’ll proactively resolve any problems if they arise.

It’s important to remember, our work is bespoke and sometimes jobs take a little longer than predicted.

Every one of our projects involves some level of excavation and site clearance. And of course, we don’t always know what we’ll find once the site clearance begins.

We’re also in the hands of third-party suppliers and sometimes there may be delays with materials.

For us, we prefer to do an amazing job, rather than rush to finish ahead of schedule. A few years down the line, you’ll be glad that we operate this way, too.

In the vast majority of cases, everything runs smoothly. But that doesn’t mean it’s not sensible to plan for any eventuality. And that’s exactly what we do.
